Firstly, I’d like to welcome all my new Twitter readers. I finally got on to Twitter last week and I’ve been overwhelmed with the positive response. It’s been incredible – I’m feeling the lurrrve! Thank you to everyone – and if you’re not following me yet (why not?) I’m @beyondcougar.
I had some wonderful fan-crush moments last week, firstly from septembermay (she’s @septembermay on Twitter), who I’ve been reading with interest since I started Beyondcougar. She writes a wonderful blog, all about love, life and the universe, with a wisdom, grace and eloquence that clearly demonstrates exactly why older women are such divine creatures! Jesse, you rock!
And then the Twitter stars aligned and I found my very own soul sister, the lovely Julia Macmillan from Toyboywarehouse.com, (@toyboywarehouse) who, when she’s not helping older women and younger men find their perfect partners, is also involved in a blog called ‘Don’t call me a Cougar‘. I literally laughed out loud at the post title that greeted me – ‘Call me a Cougar, and I’ll get my Luger’! Rebecca Traister, the article’s author, is woman after my own heart! It’s great to know there are other women out there who loathe the ‘C’ word just as much as I do and are taking positive action to smash the stereotype. (In fact, you’ll find yours truly on the site now too, after Julia very kindly added one of my features to her site)!
Julia is probably one of the biggest names here in the UK when it comes to the topic of dating younger men, which makes having her support a real honour. I remember reading about her in the national press when she first launched Toyboywarehouse a few years ago and admiring her from then. So Julia, a very, very big thank you for your support!
These are just two of the wonderful women I’ve (virtually) met this week, and over the coming weeks, I’ll be featuring more of my friends – women who love younger men, older women who rock the virtual universe, and women who go ‘Beyond Cougar’. Hopefully they will inspire you as much as they inspire me!
